Who We Are

Kidanemehret (Holy Mercy) Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church(EOTC) in San Diego, began to give its services, to the residents of San Diego and its environs, in 1998; and it is officially founded in 2000. Ecclesiastically it is administered by the EOTC Diocese of USA and Canada; which in turn is administered by EOTC Synod, whose seat in Asmara, Eritrea.

The Eritrean Orthodox Tewahdo Church is a member of the Family of the Oriental Orthodox Church, mainly comprises the Coptic Church:

•  Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahdo Church 
• The Armenian Orthodox Church
• Georgian Orthodox Church 
• The Assyrian Orthodox Church and 
• The Indian Orthodox Church.

The main faith codes the Oriental Orthodox churches are founded upon are as follows: 

1. The mystery of Trinity. 
2. The mystery of Incarnation. 
3. The mystery of Baptism. 
4. The Mystery of Eucharist. 
5. The mystery of Life after death.
